KORE Launches M2M Wireless Network Services

KORE Telematics, a digital wireless services provider, today announced the availability of its M2M wireless network services on a U.S. General Services Administration (GSA (News - Alert)) Schedule Contract. KORE GSM and CDMA cellular data services are available to public sector organizations for powering applications that help in asset tracking, offender monitoring, security and surveillance applications, all of which fall under the expanding M2M banner.

KORE Telematics has partnered with immixGroup, Inc to provide the service. The KORE M2M wireless network will help power the “Internet of Things,” enabling public sector organizations to improve overall productivity.

“Internet of Things,” is the idea that machines or objects can be readable, recognizable, locatable and/or controllable via the Internet or wireless network. It was identified by the National Intelligence Council’s Global Trends 2025 report as one of the six potentially disruptive technologies that could emerge in the next 15 years.

“The public sector industry continues to adopt wireless technologies to facilitate communication between both people and machines,” said Art Richer, president, immixGroup, Inc. “We are now able to offer our public sector customers reliable, digital wireless network services to meet their telemetry needs. Adding KORE to our GSA Schedule provides our customers with the wireless services necessary for new applications that enhance homeland security, reduce operational costs and drive productivity improvements.”

The KORE M2M network is available to U.S. Federal Civilian and Department of Defense agencies, as well as state and local government organizations under the GSA’s Cooperative Purchasing agreement. This will help these organizations for mission success by driving safety, security and efficiency improvements.

KORE is offering both GSM and CDMA cellular data network options from one contract. This will give the government organizations the flexibility to expand M2M innovations cost effectively within their operations. Also, state and local agencies can now purchase cellular data services with rate plans tailored to their specific application needs.

“The public sector is already realizing the many benefits of M2M applications and has adopted the technology across all levels of the government and military,” said Alex Brisbourne, president and chief operating officer, KORE. “We selected immixGroup as our GSA partner because of its recognized position as an IT leader in the government market. This complements a commitment to deliver, through our specialized account team exclusively focused on the public sector, more effective asset, security and environmental solutions. As the first and only specialized wireless M2M carrier on a GSA Schedule, KORE understands the unique requirements of public sector organizations and will work with immixGroup to deliver M2M network services that will enable mission success through cost savings, improved security and automated processes.”
