ArcSofts Blu-ray Player Receives DTS Surround Sensation Certification

ArcSoft (News - Alert), Inc. announced that ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre has received DTS Surround Sensation certification from DTS. This is the first company in software industry to achieve this certification.

In January 2008, ArcSoft announced support for DTS (News - Alert) Surround Sensation. In early May, ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre obtained DTS-HD Master Audio certification. The company is also  adding a new certification to its popular high definition video player, TotalMedia Theatre, in line of these long achievements and previous certifications.

DTS announced that the company has pleased to see ArcSoft receiving certification for DTS Surround Sensation. DTS is delighted to add ArcSoft to the growing list of licensees for Surround Sensation. The company is also looking forward to future collaborations and continuing its very successful relationship with ArcSoft.

TotalMedia Theatre offers users the sensation of a 5.1 channels sound system in a two channel environment with DTS Surround Sensation. This provides improved clarity, bass enhancement, and stereo expansion for the users.

With its significant psycho-acoustic information, DTS Surround Sensation processing alters human perception, making one believe that sounds are occurring outside the boundaries of the two-speaker system / headphones. DTS Surround Sensation creates an optimal surround sound experience from just two speakers, which is developed with a critical understanding of acoustics and years of experience in dealing with the properties of sound. While keeping the monaural components (such as solo vocals) unchanged, DTS Surround Sensation also supplements the weakened stereo image and ambience of digitally compressed audio.

“DTS Surround Sensation brings Surround Sound to the listeners using just two speakers or stereo headphones," said George Tang, ArcSoft Vice President and General Manager of Video and Home Entertainment Group. "By implementing this technology in the software, ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre delivers the ultimate audio experience to users when watching high definition movies on PC.”
