Pivot3 to Enter European Market

Pivot3 and Vidicore announced a deal to jointly build Pivot3's channel partner network in Europe. According to the terms of the agreement, Vidicore will represent and support Pivot3 products to physical security resellers and integrators, focusing particularly on large-scale storage markets, including public sector, homeland security, gaming, transportation, and education.

Welcoming the partnership, Achim Hauschke, president of Vidicore said that the storage solution offered by Pivot3 matched the requirements of the growing market. Stating that his company would quickly make the Pivot3 brand familiar to their reseller and integrator base, Hauschke added, “With our joint focus on video surveillance and physical security, I know we will build a strong presence together with Pivot3 in the European market."

With video surveillance becoming ubiquitous, there is also demand for better quality megapixel video technology but as the quality of the surveillance improves, the impact on infrastructure is significant, affecting the network, the video servers and the storage.
Pivot3 sources said that as storage a significant part of any large surveillance deployment, it can account for more than 50 percent of the costs.

The company offers a cost-effective solution in the Pivot3 High-Definition Storage, a clustered storage array that aggregates capacity and bandwidth using the Pivot3 RAIGE (RAID Across Independent Gigabit Ethernet) technology. Company officials said that the system can support up to sixteen times the number of data streams of other storage systems at a fraction of the cost.

Company officials added that Pivot3 High-Definition storage is built using industry-standard x86 servers and disk drives, and are connected via standard Gigabit Ethernet.

Lee Caswell, founder and chief marketing officer of Pivot3 said his company hopes to meet the increased demand for their high definition video storage solution by partnering with Vidicore.

“At a high level, European markets are adding cameras, introducing megapixel cameras, and keeping video for longer; all of these factors contribute to the need for high-capacity, high-bandwidth storage,” Caswell said. “At the same time, requirements and partner needs differ by country, and Vidicore has the connections and expertise to make us successful on a local level.”

Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, Pivot3 is one of the fastest-growing storage companies in the high-definition video storage market. In August 2008, Pivot3 released the serverless computer initiative that would allow Pivot3's storage clusters to run IP video surveillance software, thus removing the need for stand-alone application servers.

Vidicore is a European manufacturer representative with more than 20 years of experience in the area of Closed-circuit television (CCTV), helping worldwide manufacturers to introduce their products in Europe or to expand distribution activities in European countries.
