Cablevision Expands Free Video on Demand with New Music Programming

Cablevision Systems (News - Alert) has announced the expansion of their free video on demand library available to all iO TV digital cable customers. Now, the offering will house hundreds of top videos, hit programs and more, courtesy MTV, MTV2, VH1, VH1 Classic and CMT.  

The content includes a variety of today's most popular music videos, as well as hit programming like 'From G's to Gents,' 'Brooke Knows Best,' and 'Trick My Truck' to name a few.

Denise Dahldorf, Executive Vice President, Content Distribution and Marketing, MTV Networks (News - Alert) said, "We're excited to extend our leadership not only in music programming on demand, but also our long-standing and valued relationship with Cablevision." 

MTV offers a wide collection of music and pop culture programming on demand, with hit shows and music videos that span across genres and demographics.

The new On Demand programming will be available free of cost to the customers already having an iO TV set-top box. They can access the feature through the 'Free on Demand' menu on the user interface. Users are provided clear, superior quality, DVD-like functionality and the ability to pause, fast-forward and rewind through the remote control.

iO TV has the largest penetration in the country, with over 85 percent of Cablevision's cable customers being iO TV digital cable customers. iO TV offers customer's access to up to 360 channels has more than 3,500 titles available on demand at all times, 45 high-definition programming services and uniquely valuable interactive television applications.

John Trierweiler (News - Alert), Cablevision's senior vice president of product management said, "MTV Networks programming offers a wide variety of music, behind-the-scenes looks at top and emerging musical artists as well as unique lifestyle programming that continues to appeal and connect with viewers of all ages."

Apart from iO TV digital television, Cablevision offers Optimum (News - Alert) Online high-speed Internet, Optimum Voice digital voice-over-cable, and Optimum Lightpath integrated business communications services advanced telecommunications.
